Counsellor (Full-Time)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

PRONIA is seeking a suitable applicant for the Counsellor position on a Full-time basis. Reporting to the Family & Community Services Manager, you will provide effective, high quality culturally sensitive counselling and deliver community awareness sessions aimed to promote community cohesion and enhance wellbeing, improve relationships and aide positive mental health.

The successful applicant will have, amongst other attributes, tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent in the Human Services Field, minimum 2 years’ experience as a counsellor, demonstrated knowledge of working in linguistically and culturally sensitive practice.

Speaking Greek and Proficiency in English language, with excellent written and oral skills and excellent time management are essential. Proficient use of Microsoft suite and packages such as Word, Excel, Access, Internet and E-mail are also required. Also, you will need to have the capacity to work from home by owning your own computer and having internet access.

Community Support Services Co-ordinator (Full-Time)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

PRONIA is seeking a suitable applicant for the Community Support Services Coordinator position on a Full-time basis. Reporting to the Family & Community Services Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery, development and planning of program requirements including case records and data analysis, adherence to reporting requirements evaluation, collection and analysis of data, HACC & CHSP service provision, small project oversight, staff supervision and Social Work/ Social Welfare student placements.

The successful applicant will have, amongst other attributes, tertiary qualifications in Social Work, minimum 2 years’ experience as a qualified social worker, demonstrated knowledge of community development, advocacy and policy. Demonstrated capability in supervision of community services professionals and students on placement.

Generic Aide x2 (Part-Time, Thursday/Brunswick & Thursday/Clarinda)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

PRONIA has available 2 Generic Aide positions on a part time capacity, both positions are on Thursday, one at Brunswick PAG and the other one at Clarinda PAG.

Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support to clients who attend and participate in the Centre’s activities. You will also assist the clients with their personal care such as feeding, and toileting as required, assist in the organisation of relevant recreational, physical and educational activities for clients.

The successful applicant will have, amongst other attributes, well developed English written and oral skills, fluency in the Greek language and experience in organising recreational activities. A minimum Certificate III in Home and Community Care or the equivalent qualification as well as a Certificate II in First Aid or the willingness to undertake the course.

PAG Supervisor x2 (Part-Time, Wednesday/Brunswick & Thursday/Clarinda)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

PRONIA has available 2 PAG Supervisor positions on a part time capacity, one position is on Wednesday at Brunswick and the other one on Thursday at Clarinda.

Reporting to the PAG Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff including generic aides, cooks and volunteers. You will also have the responsibility to observe, mentor and develop staff by demonstrating the organisation values and provide development activities for them in their professional development. You will be required to deliver the PAG program and related activities using a client focused approach which aims for the best outcomes for clients and PRONIA.

The successful applicant will have, amongst other attributes, fluency in the Greek and English language, well developed written and oral skills and proficiency in Microsoft office. A Certificate III in Home and Community Care or the equivalent qualification as well as a current Senior First Aid Certificate.

Community Care Worker (Casual & Permanent Part-Time)

PRONIA is seeking to recruit people to join their vibrant and dynamic Aged & Co-ordinated Care Services Team.

We are looking for people who are interested in providing support to elderly and people with disabilities in the community to work in our Home Care Packages:

  • Home Care: House cleaning (e.g. dusting, wiping, mopping etc.) and other tasks such as washing, ironing, cooking and shopping.
     
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance for their personal care (e.g. helping with food, assistance in dressing, showering, toilet etc.), as well as accompanying them to appointments or leisure activities.

This is an opportunity for people to join an organisation which prides itself on quality and effective supports and services. Permanent part time work available – up to 30 hours per week.

We are looking for people who currently have a CERT III in Home and Community Care or equivalent or willingness to do the course whilst in paid employment as a Community Care Worker.

PRONIA places a strong emphasis on professional development & ongoing training, with the CERT III being the first step to a career in aged care.

Successful applicants will join our pool of workers and be able to work in all regions of Melbourne metro area. PRONIA offers flexibility and consistency in working hours and provides supervision and support.

Applicants are required to be Greek speaking and MUST have a good level of speaking, reading & writing in the English language.

Children Services Educators (Casual & Permanent Part-Time)

PRONIA is seeking suitable Children’s Services Educators to fill the vacant positions available at the Alpha Children’s Centre. Reporting to the Manager, you will work in accordance with Children’s Centre policies and procedures; ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children. Any additional tasks will be in line with the overall position relating to the Alpha Children’s Centre.

The successful applicant will have, relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood development and care. Understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and issues affecting the CALD community. The applicant must have excellent written and oral skills, excellent time management and proficiency in computer use. Proficient in speaking English and preferably a second language would be highly recommended.
