Volunteer

As a PRONIA volunteer, you will be part of an organisation supporting vulnerable members of the Greek community and contributing to building a stronger community, whilst you develop your skills and knowledge.

You will be supported, mentored, and provided with training and social opportunities throughout your journey as a volunteer with PRONIA.

Just 1 hour a week of your time gives the gift of enjoyment, friendship, and satisfaction to an older person in need.  The personal fulfillment and rewards volunteers gain as a result of their contributions are invaluable.

PRONIA is an Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government.  The ACVVS involves volunteers visiting older people to provide friendship and companionship.

Why to Volunteer with PRONIA

PRONIA has continued to support the Greek community especially those in need for over 52 years.

Our Greek-speaking volunteers have a significant role in supporting older people at home or those who live in residential care.  Their visits can make all the difference to someone’s life. Conversations in Greek, sharing stories, having a coffee together, singing songs, and encouraging reminisce, are all part of creating a better tomorrow for people who may be isolated, lonely and in need of companionship.

What we offer you:

  • A detailed volunteer Position Description
  • Personalised Orientation to the organisation and Volunteering role
  • Continuous training sessions to develop your knowledge and skills
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Program
  • Safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory environment
  • Supportive Experienced Team
