Children Services Educators (Casual / Permanent Part-Time)

PRONIA is seeking suitable Children’s Services Educators to fill the vacant positions available at the Alpha Children’s Centre. Reporting to the Manager, you will work in accordance with Children’s Centre policies and procedures; ensure a safe environment is maintained for both staff and children. Any additional tasks will be in line with the overall position relating to the Alpha Children’s Centre.

The successful applicant will have, relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood development and care. Understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity and issues affecting the CALD community. The applicant must have excellent written and oral skills, excellent time management and proficiency in computer use. Proficient in speaking English and preferably a second language would be highly recommended.

Community Care Worker (Casual / Permanent Part-Time)

PRONIA is seeking to recruit people to join their vibrant and dynamic Aged & Co-ordinated Care Services Team.

We are looking for people who are interested in providing support to elderly and people with disabilities in the community to work in our Home Care Packages:

  • Home Care: House cleaning (e.g. dusting, wiping, mopping etc.) and other tasks such as washing, ironing, cooking and shopping.
     
  • Personal Care: Provide assistance for their personal care (e.g. helping with food, assistance in dressing, showering, toilet etc.), as well as accompanying them to appointments or leisure activities.

This is an opportunity for people to join an organisation which prides itself on quality and effective supports and services. Permanent part time work available – up to 30 hours per week.

We are looking for people who currently have a CERT III in Home and Community Care or equivalent or willingness to do the course whilst in paid employment as a Community Care Worker.

PRONIA places a strong emphasis on professional development & ongoing training, with the CERT III being the first step to a career in aged care.

Cook and Educator (Part-Time)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

Alpha Children’s Centre is seeking suitable applicants for the Cook & Educator position on a part time basis. Reporting to the Alpha Children’s Centre Manager, you will be responsible for providing assistance and support the centre staff in the day to day kitchen duties, in other room and undertake additional tasks in line with the overall position relating to Alpha Children’s Centre.

The successful applicant will have, amongst other attributes, relevant qualifications in food preparation (desirable any early childhood qualifications e.g. Certificate III in ECEC) and other food handling related qualifications, business knowledge of the early childhood industry, demonstrated experience in early childhood and cooking for children. Proficient in Greek and English is an advantage and an additional language is highly desirable, with excellent written and oral skills and excellent time management.

PAG Supervisor (Part-Time)

PRONIA is seeking a suitable PAG Supervisor on a part time basis for Clarinda on Thursdays. Reporting to the PAG Program Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising staff including generic aides, cooks and volunteers. You will also have the responsibility to observe, mentor and develop staff by demonstrating the organisation values and provide development activities for them in their professional development. You will be required to deliver the PAG program and related activities using a client focused approach which aims for the best outcomes for clients and PRONIA.

The successful applicant will have, among other attributes, fluency in the Greek and English language, well developed written and oral skills and proficiency in Microsoft office. A Certificate III in Home and Community Care or the equivalent qualification as well as a current Senior First Aid Certificate.

Generic Aide (Part-Time)

PRONIA is an ethno-specific community services agency servicing the needs of the Australian Greek community, operating under a dual model of advocacy and service development and delivery.

PRONIA is seeking a suitable Generic Aide on a part time capacity for Brunswick on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing support to clients who attend and participate in the Centre’s activities. You will also assist the clients with their personal care such as feeding, toileting as required and assist in the organisation of relevant recreational, physical and educational activities for clients.

The successful applicant will have, among other attributes, well developed English written and oral skills, fluency in the Greek language and experience in organising recreational activities. A minimum Certificate III in Home and Community Care or the equivalent qualification as well as a Certificate II in First Aid or the willingness to undertake the course.

Rostering Services Officer (Full Time)

PRONIA is seeking to employ a suitably qualified applicant to join the Aged & Co-ordinated Care Unit to undertake rostering duties for the Respite & Brokered Services Program. The position will be based at Oakleigh.

Responsibilities will include:

  • managing changes to the roster,
  • inputting data in rostering software,
  • maintaining electronic case notes on care manager,
  • facilitating client referrals.

The successful applicant will have sound knowledge of the Greek community and issues relating to elderly and people with disabilities.

Essential Criteria: 

  1. Demonstrated experience or an understanding of the needs of Greek elderly, carers and people with disabilities.
  2. Demonstrated experience in administrative tasks and working independently.
  3. Data entry skills and accuracy are essential.
  4. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and prioritise work load to meet competing deadlines.
  5. Well-developed English written and oral skills, knowledge of the Greek language.
  6. Demonstrated knowledge of computers.
