This year marks the 50th anniversary of PRONIA. We invite you to celebrate with us.

Our story begins one day in 1972 when three people gathered for a meeting in order to address the rising needs of the new migrants that were facing social and many other issues in their new country. The meeting took place at Dr. Spyros Moraitis place with Nick Polites and George Papadopoulos present.

From that meeting, the Australian-Greek Welfare Association was born, known today as PRONIA. Today we are a vibrant organisation, operating a broad range of services across all of Melbourne and much of Victoria. We have a long and proud history dating back to 1972.

This year we celebrate and a number of upcoming events have been planned that will form part of the celebration. But for now, save the date for the main event, on 17th September.

More details will be published soon!

PRONIA has had a long, proud history in advocating for social justice, equality of opportunity for individuals and communities, with the aim of helping to create a stronger, cohesive, and inclusive society for all Australians. It is within this spirit that PRONIA supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and the “yes” vote in the upcoming referendum to constitutionally recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the First Peoples of Australia and a Voice to parliament.
