Groundbreaking RMIT consortium puts community at the heart of engineering solutions

  PRONIA, SydWest Multicultural Services and Settlement Services International establish an alliance with RMIT University to link students with diverse communities. A first-of-its-kind community co-design consortium, launched on July 19, 2024, will give RMIT engineering students the opportunity to shift the dial on some of the big challenges facing culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Australia. It is with great sadness that we remember Peter Jasonides, a much loved member of the AGWS/PRONIA family. Peter was part of our Richmond team in the early 90’s and helped co-ordinate our various employment programs. For those of us who were lucky enough to work with Peter, we will remember his gregarious laugh, twinkling smile and unwavering love and support. PAG visits Degani’s Northcote

Our Planned Activity Group of Brunswick was visiting DEGANI coffee restaurant in Northcote on 11th June as PRONIA’s Brunswick office is closed for a few weeks due to renovations. The change of location and venue has been very welcomed by the participants, who enjoyed the opportunity to try something different.

Carers Excursion

On Tuesday, May 28th, PRONIA’s Carers enjoyed a delightful excursion to the picturesque Dandenong Ranges. This special outing aimed to promote well-being and self-care for dedicated carers who tirelessly care for others. The day was filled with laughter and camaraderie, starting with a delicious lunch at the Four Seasons Restaurant. Afterward, we headed to Sky High Dandenong to take in the breathtaking views. Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea

Thousands around Australia raise money for cancer council on 23rd May and at PRONIA we host an annual event for our staff members, in support of cancer council. With a variety of sweet and savory delicacies, staff enjoyed the morning tea and donated to the fundraising event that has raised so far more than 5m dollars around Australia.

On the occasion of National Volunteer Week 2024, two of our volunteers visited the 3XY Studio on Wednesday 15/05 as guests at PRONIA’s program. Helen Krokos and Helen Giordamnis talked about the benefits of volunteerism, their experiences with the people they visit and how volunteerism has changed their lives. As we will be celebrating PRONIA’s volunteers next week, we would like to extend our gratitude to all the amazing volunteers in our communities who make our world a better place.
