Social Support Program – Volunteer visitation
The Social Support Program uses culturally & linguistically trained volunteers to provide emotional support and companionship to isolated elderly who live in their own home. The volunteers help clients to maintain their physical and mental health by reducing isolation through sustained social and cultural contacts within the Greek community.
The program provides the following benefits:
- Emotional support and social contact through trained volunteers
- To enhance the physical, psychological an d social well-being of clients and carers, and
- A link to their local community.
Eligibility
Greek speaking, frail aged people over the age of 65 years old.

Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) – Volunteer visitation
The CVS Program uses culturally & linguistically trained volunteers to provide emotional support and companionship to isolated elderly who live in permanent residential care.
The volunteers help to reduce the incidents of isolation faced by elderly who live in mainstream (non-Greek) aged care facilities.
