Mr George Spiliotis – Hon. Secretary

George has served on the PRONIA Board since 2006 and has previously occupied the positions of President, Vice President, and Treasurer.

Prior to his election on the Board, George was a founding volunteer with the Australian Greek Welfare Society’s Legal Information Referral Service which provided pro bono legal services to the Greek community. George served as a volunteer for nearly a decade.

George is a lawyer with considerable experience in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Wills and Estates, Dispute Resolution and Employment Law. He was previously a member of the Court Practice Committee for the Litigation Lawyers Section of the Law Institute of Victoria and has been a member of other Committees. He currently is the Principal of the law firm Spiliotis Legal.

His passion for golf led him to become the founding Secretary of the Australian Hellenic Golf Federation which organises the Annual Australian Hellenic Golf Open, as well Junior Golf Clinics. The aims of the Federation include fostering relationships between the Australian and Greek Golfing Communities, increasing the awareness of the noble game of golf in the Greek community, as well as financially assisting organisations such as PRONIA.

George looks forward to continuing to serve on the board of PRONIA in meeting the challenges that face the Greek community in the years ahead.

PRONIA has had a long, proud history in advocating for social justice, equality of opportunity for individuals and communities, with the aim of helping to create a stronger, cohesive, and inclusive society for all Australians. It is within this spirit that PRONIA supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart and the “yes” vote in the upcoming referendum to constitutionally recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as the First Peoples of Australia and a Voice to parliament.
