Accessing funding & support

  • How do I access my funding and engage support services?

PRONIA’S team assist participants to understand their plan and funding. Support coordinators help participants engage support services. All plans have a section that outlines how much funding is allocated for each service, and how funds are managed. Funds may be agency managed, plan managed or self-managed. The most common form of funds management is a combination of agency managed and plan managed. Agency managed funds are accessed by service providers through the PRODA portal. Plan managed funds are managed by a plan manager, and invoices are sent directly to your nominated provider for processing and payment. Your Support Coordination service is funded under the capacity building section. Not all plans have funding provision for Support Coordination.

Qualifying for NDIS

  • Am I eligible to access the NDIS, if so, what do I need to do?

PRONIA’S team will advise people on the eligibility process. We will then (if requested) support people through a verbal request access, or guide participants through the process to fill out an access request form. In order for participants to meet eligibility, their disability is permanent, have one or more cognitive, intellectual, neurological, sensory, physical or a psychiatric impairment that are likely to be permanent (NDIS, 2021) Your medical practitioner will be required to submit supporting documentation.

NDIS Assessments

  • What is a plan assessment / review?

A planning meeting is the initial stage of the process. A NDIS delegate will contact you to arrange a plan meeting. The objective of this meeting is to establish what your future goals and aspirations are, and the challenges you may face day to day in pursuit of achieving these goals. Once your goals have been identified, the planner will assist you to develop a plan that addresses any challenges through the provision of appropriate support services. Once your plan has been developed it will be reviewed annually, to ensure your needs are being meet so you may work towards your goals.

Service providers

Careers

  • Can I work?

Our Team will help participants find employment through a suitable disability employment service (DES). A DES will help eligible participants find a job. They also provide training and guidance on how to prepare for, and keep a job.

Support groups

  • I would like to join a community support group

Our team will help participants connect with a suitable group. Support groups provide participants with the opportunity to meet other people, offer support and encouragement, and share experiences. More importantly they can help people realise that they are not alone.
